A former member of the most elite and specialized arm of the United States Military, the U.S. Navy SEALs, Chris specializes in high performance team development and coaching.

Drawing on his years of specialized training, Chris works with both corporate and team leaders, offering a hands-on, evolution-oriented coaching experience that helps break through personal, professional and performance barriers. 

Chris graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy, after which he completed Basic Underwater Demolition (BUD/S) SEAL Training, finishing first in his class, the “Honor Man”.

EXPERIENCE

Chris Haggerty is a Senior Consultant with FMG leading, a team of advisors, executive coaches and consultants committed to helping organizations, leaders and leadership teams create sustainable breakthrough performance. A former member of the nation’s most elite and specialized arm of the United States Military, the U.S. Navy SEALs, Chris specializes in high performance team development and coaching. Drawing on his years of specialized training, Chris works with both corporate and team leaders, offering a hands-on, evolution-oriented coaching experience that helps break through personal, professional and performance barriers. Chris speaks passionately about the power of “the team”, overcoming adversity, as well as fear – to a wide variety of audiences ranging from large groups of executives to athletic teams -- specifically addressing the needs of the individual client.

In addition to his work as an executive coach, Chris is a partner in Pilots’ Association for the Bay and River Delaware where he serves as a First Class River Pilot responsible for the safe navigation of large national and international commercial vessels carrying hundreds of millions of dollars of cargo throughout the Delaware Bay and River, and Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. As a River Pilot, Chris assumes practical command of the vessels, foreign officers and crews, while maintaining situational awareness in the face of heavy shipping traffic and occasional foul weather.

MILITARY EXPERIENCE

After graduation from SEAL training, Chris was assigned to SEAL Team ONE. While serving as a platoon commander and special warfare operative, he trained and deployed in the Pacific and South East Asia with a focus on underwater operations and jungle warfare. He subsequently oversaw the research, development, testing and procurement of sophisticated weapons and operational equipment for Naval Special Warfare at the Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C. In 1999, Chris assumed the role of Assistant Community Manager for the Naval Special Warfare Officer Corps, where he was solely responsible for the interviewing, screening, and recommended selection of all R.O.T.C. and O.C.S. SEAL candidates.

ACADEMIC AFFILIATION

Chris is a 1990 graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy, after which he completed Basic Underwater Demolition (BUD/S) SEAL Training, finishing first in his class, the “Honor Man”.
