Della K. Shaw is a Senior Consultant at FMG Leading, a team of advisors that help clients build world-class organizations at the intersection of humanity and high performance. Della is an executive leadership coach, strategic partner, and facilitator with more than three decades of C-suite experience in not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare systems. She has served on Boards representing industry, communities, and state government.

Throughout her career, Della has partnered with key stakeholders in fast-moving, turbulent healthcare environments to build high performing organizations designed to better serve their populations. Her extensive executive experience gives her an in-depth understanding of clients' challenges and makes her uniquely qualified to partner with clients in finding real solutions in these challenging times.

Della's work is guided by her philosophy that the most valuable capital for all organizations is human, and the highest returns are driven from investments in that human capital. She is passionate about building engaged, purpose-driven leaders who create measurable, sustainable results for themselves and those they lead and serve. Della utilizes various assessments and a 360 feedback process to help clients target areas of strength and opportunity for maximum return. Her strengths-based approach helps clients leverage their strengths and multiply impact by developing and fully utilizing the strengths of their teams.

Some examples of Della's work include leading physician acquisition transitions and transformations, building mission-sustaining cultures, and developing physician-administrator leadership dyads with shared balanced scorecard accountability. Other examples of her work include leading the development of and providing executive leadership for collaborative networking agreements with hospitals and Partners HealthCare (Boston, MA) and the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN); development of a legal framework for a Clinically Integrated Network (San Diego, CA); oversight of clinical centers of excellence; and development of physician provider networks with aligned incentives, capitation, and shared-risk models (Sarasota, FL, Southeast FL, and CA). She has also participated in the due diligence process for several potential hospital mergers.
