Leslie has over 25 years of experience maximizing human potential for growth, improved performance and meaning in work.

She has extensive experience and expertise in healthcare leadership development, talent management, quality process improvement, change and transformation. In addition to her work with healthcare executives, Leslie is a sought-after keynote speaker on topics including: interpersonal effectiveness, emotional intelligence, team performance, and organization culture.

Prior to joining FMG Leading, Leslie was Vice President of Culture and Talent Planning for Palomar Health, with oversight of performance management, talent development, culture integration and leadership development.

Leslie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA, her Master of Science degree with honors in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Diego State University, and her Ph.D. in Organizational Systems from Saybrook University.

EXPERIENCE

Leslie Solomon, Ph.D., is a Principal at FMG Leading, supporting the healthcare practice by helping leaders and organizations design, measure, and maximize the impact of their human capital and corporate culture. Leslie came to FMG Leading from the healthcare sector where she worked as an executive responsible for talent planning, performance management, learning programs, physician leadership development, and culture design.

Leslie helps her clients build leader and team capabilities that transform organizations and cultures. She integrates evidence and emerging practices to design and deliver programs targeting a wide range of strategic human capital initiatives. As an executive coach and facilitator, Leslie helps senior leaders build emotional intelligence, challenge existing assumptions, and increase capacity for change.

Prior to joining FMG Leading, Leslie worked at Palomar Health as Vice President of Culture and Talent Planning. She also spent over 15 years as an organizational consultant and manager of training and development in the BioTech and Pharmaceutical industries. Leslie’s clients have included: Pfizer La Jolla Labs, UC San Diego Health System, Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Pyxis Corporation, Advanced Cardiovascular Systems, and Edwards Life Sciences.

Leslie is passionate about improving the quality of healthcare. She has designed and delivered physician leadership development and other learning programs that enhance inter-professional collaboration and care coordination, and that ultimately support positive outcomes.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE AREAS

Her co-authored article, Building a Physician Culture for Healthcare Transformation: A Hospital’s Leadership Challenge, was featured in Frontiers of Health Services Management, an American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) publication. Leslie’s research interests focus on leadership values and transformational growth.

Leslie has served on several boards of community non-profit organizations in a board development capacity. One of these organizations, Words Alive! Has grown to over 500 volunteers offering essential literacy services to underserved students and families.

Leslie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UCLA, her Master of Science degree with honors in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from San Diego State University, and her Ph.D. in Organizational Systems from Saybrook University. She is a fellow of the McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School Institute of Coaching.

PERSONAL

Leslie resides in San Diego with her husband, their three children, two cats and two dogs. She is an avid reader and enjoys hiking, swimming, and rock climbing.
