EXPERIENCE

Richard serves as Chief Strategy Officer for FMG Leading, a group of coaches and advisors that help clients accelerate growth through world-class human capital strategy. He brings over two decades of senior leadership and advisory experience across a broad spectrum of industries including global consulting and professional services. With a career that began on the London Stock Exchange, Richard creates a focus on growth, profitability and competitive advantage for owners, CEOs and senior leaders interested in taking their work to the next level. His broad capabilities include building organizational and financial structures, strategy formulation and valuation assessment, and growing equity value in preparation for successful exit.

Formerly the CEO of CDR International, his expertise played a critical role in taking the firm from relatively unknown status to a high-end brand leader, as he oversaw growth from $3M in revenues and three local employees to over fifty employees globally and a network of one hundred-plus consultants with revenues approaching $40M. During his tenure Richard guided the company through an acquisition by MercerDelta, one of the world’s most respected consulting firms, after which he stayed on for 18 months to lead the integration effort and creation of the senior management team’s business strategy and discipline. Leveraging this experience, he has advised numerous professional services and private equity firms, helping them accelerate growth and position their businesses for successful divestiture.

Richard’s work as a strategic growth advisor ranges from navigating and aligning differing owner interests and intent, to helping firms understand how to strike a balance between the voice of the CEO and the voice of the investors. His global experience and knowledge of business transformation across a broad range of industries allows him to help clients effectively capitalize on growth opportunities. Key to his success are his abilities to bring strategic focus and clarity to organizations, to establish clear roadmaps for success and work to overcome barriers, and to align corporate objectives with vision.
