With more than 30 years of people-focused consulting experience, Rod supports transformation efforts across the healthcare ecosystem, helping to design and implement initiatives that meaningfully improve employee engagement, organizational resilience, and patient safety. He has worked with a wide range of renowned organizations to develop tailored strategies that empower front-line leaders and drive sustainable improvements in workforce well-being and performance.

Rod earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Clemson University.

EXPERIENCE

Rod Wilkes is a Principal at FMG Leading, a team of advisors that creates world-class organizations at the intersection of humanity and high performance. With a strong healthcare consulting background, he specializes in helping organizations within the healthcare ecosystem align engagement initiatives with organizational strategies to achieve measurable business outcomes. His work has enhanced employee engagement, reduced burnout, fostered resilience, improved patient safety, and boosted retention.

Rod joins FMG Leading from Press Ganey, where he developed and led complex engagements with numerous healthcare clients. He performed similar work as Senior Vice President of Employee and Physician Engagement at Morehead Associates, before its acquisition by Press Ganey. Rod’s past roles include positions at The Southern Company, one of the largest electric utility companies in the U.S., where he designed and delivered leadership development programs for executives and senior leaders. He began his career at Accenture, formerly Anderson Consulting, where he developed foundational skills in organizational strategy and consulting.

ADDITIONAL PRACTICE AREAS

Rod currently serves as an executive board member of the Lake Wateree Association, an organization dedicated to enhancing the lake experience for all users by prioritizing water quality, safety, and accessibility. Previously, he served on the board of Samaritan House, a non-profit organization offering respite care to homeless individuals recovering from hospital stays.

PERSONAL

Rod lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife and their two dogs. He is the proud parent of four. In his free time, Rod enjoys playing tennis, watching Clemson football and tackling do-it-yourself home improvement projects.
